It is important that parents take advantage of what the parish offers for the religious education of their children. Even though a child may not necessarily be preparing for one of the Sacraments, it would benefit the child to participate in classes that are offered at every grade level, whether through St.Mary’s School or through the Faith Formation program.
Youth also will benefit from the weekly bible study that is offered for teens between 13 and 17 years of age. A bible study and social are offered each week on Thursday evening at 7:00 PM in the Faith Formation Center. Teens can check out the activities on this Instagram Page. (link)
Faith Formation is not limited only to the young. Faith Formation is ongoing for each of us throughout our life. Opportunities for Adult Faith Formation include:
Bible studies and other events periodically offered in English and Spanish
The “University Series” during Lent is a collaborative effort among a number of parishes in our area. We have the opportunity to attend an hour and a half lecture each evening in Lent at one of our parish sites on a wide variety of topics.
The at-home resource in English and Spanish which all of our parishioners have access to at STMW.FORMED.ORG. Go the website, create an account for yourself, remember the password, and enjoy hundreds of movies, books, talks, documentaries and, for the children, cartoons – all free and all on Catholic themes.
We also encourage our parishioners to participate in the many opportunities for retreat both on-site and away at various retreat houses in the area. Retreats are special times with the Lord and for experiencing his love.
